Do Your Own Pedicure: Step-by-Step Guide
Use our product list and find a selection of suitable stainless steel instruments to start your foot care at home right away!
Step 1: Place your feet in a warm foot bath
Begin your foot care with a relaxing and cleansing foot bath. The warm water softens the skin and prepares it for the upcoming steps. For an extra care boost, add a special oil or foot foam. Let your feet soak in the foot bath for at least 15 minutes so they can absorb the care substances. Then dry your feet well and proceed to step two.
Step 2: Disinfect the toes
Before you start removing nails and calluses, you should disinfect your toes. This prevents inflammation of the sensitive cuticles during the treatment.
Step 3: Remove the cuticles
To remove the cuticles, use a nail care set from May. Push back the soft cuticles with a double instrument and carefully remove the excess skin with a small cuticle scissor.
Step 4: Remove the calluses
After your feet are dried following the foot bath, you can start removing calluses. Use a callus plane or callus remover. With these tools, you will easily get rid of the calluses on your feet.
Step 5: Apply peeling
After removing the coarse skin flakes, apply a mechanical peeling. This frees the skin from remaining flakes and smooths it. A peeling ensures that your skin looks more beautiful and fresher in the end – the effort is worth it!
Step 6: File the toenails
Now take care of your toenails and shape them. Cut the nails regularly but not too short to avoid infections. Use a nail file from May for the finishing touch and file the nails straight so that they end flush with the toe tip. Always file in the direction of growth, from top to bottom, to prevent tearing.
Step 7: Apply nail polish
Now comes the nicest part of the pedicure: applying nail polish. Start with a nourishing base coat that contains vitamins or oils to protect the nails and prevent discoloration. Then apply two coats of color polish and finish with a top coat for better hold and extra shine.
Step 8: Apply care
To finish the pedicure, apply a nourishing moisturizing cream and massage it in well. This final care gives your feet the ultimate feel-good boost and ensures they stay soft and supple.
With these steps, you can easily do your pedicure at home and pamper your feet all around. Try it out and enjoy the relaxing wellness feeling!
