I have been using a similar knife for 25 years and am experienced in preventing rust. That might be a bit tedious, but in return, you get a really sharp knife that makes kitchen work enjoyable. And the special story behind it? My Bavarian grandma did everything with such a tool, it was always in her apron, she diligently used 3s for the kitchen ... but also for everything else.
